    Vision

Category: How Career is developed No Comments »

    Sống trên đời sống
    Cần có một tấm lòng
    Ðể chi em biết không
    Ðể gió cuốn đi.
    Trịnh Công Son

    Living in this life
    Save yourself one heart
    For what? Do you know?
    For the wind to blow.
    English Translation by Tài

    Living in this life
    Vision is needed
So when the dog bites and the bee stings
I still know what to do!
    A distro by Tài

My definition: Vision is the abstract future form that one entity ideally visualizes.

    Why a vision is important

    • It leads to consistent actions of all particles in the entity to achieve the goal.
    • Dilemma: many times one is tempted to make decisions that promise to bring immediate outcomes. The outcome might look good, but the question is whether it is more helpful in the long run to achieve the preset goal.
    • Example: if my goal is to become world’s best male model, I definitely wouldn’t want to spend a decade to master analyzing Deoxyribonucleic Acid’s structure.
    • In difficult times, when all seem to be getting lost, a leader with a clear vision is one who leads the whole complex out of the jungle.

RMIT Student Leadership Award, Gold Standard

I received Student Leadership Award, Gold Standard from President Michael Mann for my tireless contribution to RMIT Vietnam Business Club, RMIT University, the Software Engineering Program and RMITPortal Community.

I led RMIT Vietnam Business Club through many activities, including 3 workshops in Event, Brand Management and Hotel Management, Ajinomoto Factory Tour, Business Etiquette - Dress for Success, The Grand Charity Series I and 2 Buddie’s Call Team Buildings. I managed Human Resource department, Marketing department and the club’s process.

I actively participated in events that proposed RMIT University like Open Days and Information Days. I made presentations to parents and students on studying at RMIT and student activities.

I supported the Software Engineering program by encouraging many students and prospects to be more proactive in studying. I analyzed root causes of some difficulties and proposed solutions to the program structure.

I was the Supermoderator of RMITPortal. I discussed with many Software, Multimedia, Commerce students on studying at RMIT, and clarified enquiries from prospective students.

Although I am writing the above paragraphs in past tense, I am still doing - and guiding the next generations to do what I have described.
