I’m not sure what you might have assumed about Idealists. Some, when receiving the psychology test result stating that they are Idealists, raise a lot of questions inside themselves whether that was good. It is observable that many standards have created unnecessary stereotypes. I hope what I’m going to discuss will clarify some aspects of the Idealists.
Firstly, idealism gives you faith – the great source of self-motivation. On the personal scale, self-motivation helps you overcome tough challenges. At interpersonal level, your faith in whatever you do is the greatest motivation for your colleagues.
Next, may they be mistakenly used interchangeably, idealistic and moony are not identical. Idealism is a foundation while practicality forms behaviors, and the two are absolutely not mutual exclusive. Practicality can base on idealism without conflict.
Additionally, idealism is also far different from perfectionism. The first highly values ideas and thoughts, and regards them as an indispensable aspect of any full reality. The second is to believe that imperfection is not acceptable.
In terms of MBTI, Kaiser’s test indicates that NFs are Idealists. My analysis points out that NF people are naturally gifted with strategic thinking. This type absorbs knowledge quickly and uses their iNtuitive function to find the intersection of seemingly parallel planes. Those intersections are usually the foundation of innovation and solutions. The F function gives Idealists the empathic capability to shape their strategy so that it would work the best way for other people. In short, if used the right way, the Idealistic mind is what nurtures organizational and social evolution.
In sum, Idealists have their own advantages and are crucial part of any organization and community. Like any other type, when Idealists learn to make use of their best capabilities and potentials, magnificent results can be expected.
