Problem: I want to sort a list of items which is not contained within a table.
In Word 2003, I could have selected the list, chose Data / Sort… from the menu and proceeded from the dialog without much difficulty.
In Word 2007, however, sort option is only displayed after selecting a Table in group Table Tools / Layout from the Ribbon.

I had to invent a workaround for this matter.
I copy the list into a table, then select the Sort option which has been displayed. Copying the list to one cell or spanning the list items across cells both do the trick, as all we’re trying is to have the option displayed.
This is a wiki(usability) improvable.
