Zing Mail Beta, unlimited storage, 30Mb attachment
Category: How Products benefit users Add commentsEventually after aggressively penetrating Vietnam market with a lot of properties such as the colorful Zing portal, the controversial Zing chat and the very successful social-networking site Yobanbe, Zing MP3…, Zing is preparing to roll out Email service.
- 30Mb attachment, 3 times as much as that of Yahoo! Mail
- Server in Vietnam so bottle-neck effect is eliminated.
Through a short interview with Zing team’s Chief Developer, I learned that the following will be supported
- Unlimited storage
- POP3
- Screen capture
- e-cards
- Music embed. This is a smart move to integrate with products together.
When I logged in using Safari, the message “System is busy” pops out. I retried with Firefox and it went well. The message looks like a facade to the incompatibility of many browsers.
My prediction is that many users will utilize this service as a music-sharing channel.

I’m not particularly interested in Yobanbe after seeing some of the blogs people put on it. The look and feel seem a mess to me
This email thing is interesting. If it succeeds, it is perhaps the first made-in-Vietnam service. But let’s see if it can win me over Gmail. Unlimited storage, for what?
And plz ask them about IMAP also hehe

I found 2 reasons to use Zing mail:
1. When the connection to international network is interrupted and you cannot use your Gmail to send information.
2. As a virtual hard-drive. “Unlimited capacity” makes Zing mail better than the 6Gb Gmail (as of today)
But we’ll have to see whether the service can be useful and more importantly, long-lasting.
